The Wisdom of the Elder Futhark

Origins and Legacy

The Elder Futhark is the oldest form of the runic alphabets, used by Germanic tribes for Northwest Germanic dialects in the Migration Period. Its name comes from the first six runes: Fehu, Uruz, Thurisaz, Ansuz, Raidho, and Kenaz.

Beyond their use as letters, each rune was believed to embody a specific cosmic force. To 'read' the runes was to interpret the interaction of these forces in one's life.

The Divination Process

Divination with runes is not about predicting a fixed future, but about understanding the energies at play. It is a tool for introspection, helping you to see patterns that your conscious mind might have missed.

When you draw a rune, focus your intent. The symbols act as a mirror to your subconscious, providing a bridge between the mundane and the spiritual.

"Runes you must find and meaningful staves,
Very large staves, very strong staves,

And the counselor of the gods engraved."
